Techlitics

Editorial Policy

Our standards for accurate, fair, and useful technology coverage.

Our purpose

Techlitics covers technology, software, and digital tools to help readers understand important issues and make informed choices. We explain complex topics in plain language, without hype or needless jargon.

Accuracy and fact-checking

We check key facts, dates, names, prices, and product details before publishing. Whenever possible, we use official documents, direct statements, and other reliable sources. Technology changes quickly, so we try to make clear when information was checked.

We separate facts from opinions, predictions, and claims we cannot independently verify. When important details remain uncertain, we say so.

Sources and attribution

We credit the sources behind important claims, statistics, and quotations. We prefer first-hand evidence and link to supporting material when it helps readers check the information.

Anonymous sources are considered only when there is a sound reason to protect someone's identity. Those claims need extra care and, where possible, further confirmation.

Editorial independence and fairness

Our editorial choices should be guided by accuracy, relevance, and value to readers, not pressure from advertisers or companies. We aim to represent different views fairly when a topic is disputed, while giving more weight to stronger evidence.

Writers and editors should disclose relationships that could affect their judgment. Paid promotion must not be presented as independent reporting.

Reviews and comparisons

Our product guides and reviews explain what a product offers, who it may suit, and where it falls short. We consider features, pricing, ease of use, limitations, and practical needs where relevant.

We explain whether a review is based on direct use, official documentation, or other research. We do not claim to have tested a product when we have not. Our How we test page describes the people and checks behind our assessments.

Advertising and affiliate links

Techlitics may publish ads, sponsored content, or articles with affiliate links. Where these apply, we aim to label them clearly so readers can tell commercial material apart from independent editorial content.

A commercial relationship should not guarantee favorable coverage or determine an independent review's conclusions. We explain affiliate links, sponsorships, and product access in our Disclosures.

Corrections and updates

When we learn of a factual error, we review the concern and correct confirmed mistakes as soon as reasonably possible. We aim to make significant corrections clear to readers.

We may update older articles when software, prices, or policies change. Updates keep information current; corrections fix errors. Our Corrections policy explains how we handle both.

AI and editorial responsibility

AI tools may assist with outlining, organizing research, or editing. They do not replace editorial judgment or fact-checking. Important claims, quotations, and sources should be checked before publication.

We do not knowingly present invented AI-generated quotes, images, or events as genuine reporting. We aim to disclose meaningful AI use when readers could otherwise be misled.

Privacy and original work

We seek to report fairly, respect privacy, and avoid misleading headlines or unfair personal attacks. We do not publish private information without a valid public-interest reason. We credit original work and reject plagiarism.
